Introduction: In recent years, the use of caffeinated drinks to increase alertness and stay awake has increased, as a result of which there are concerns, including its negative impact on mental and physical health, especially in people who stay awake for long hours due to their work conditions. has it. This article deals with the effect of consuming caffeinated drinks on the health of people in society. Search Method: In this review article, we searched three Persian databases (SID, IranMedex, Magiran) and three English databases (PubMed, Scopus, PsycNFO). All primary studies that investigated the effect of caffeine on health were included in the study. All studies conducted on specific samples were excluded. After screening the found samples, all selected studies were evaluated separately. Results: According to the study of previous studies, we concluded that the consumption of 5 mg of caffeine in coffee per kilogram of body weight from 24 hours before to 12 hours after delayed muscle contusion is effective. Of course, due to the negative effects of excessive caffeine consumption on blood pressure and heart rate, it is better to avoid its excessive consumption. We also found that it has the opposite effect in improving the regenerative function of mesenchymal stem cells, and long-term coffee consumption is associated with a lower risk of gout in women. Conclusion: Based on the findings, we concluded that caffeinated drinks have positive effects on physical and mental health, and not all effects are negative. However, its excessive consumption can endanger physical and mental health.
