Introduction: Physical literacy is a new concept in institutionalizing an active lifestyle, which is related to various factors. In the present study, the relationship between physical literacy and internet addiction in overweight and obese students was investigated. Methods and Materials: In order to achieve the goal of the research, 136 overweight and obese students from different schools of Semnan city were selected to answer the research questionnaires. The students were from different schools in the city and the sampling method was available sampling. The tools used in the present study included Physical Literacy Questionnaire (APLQ) and Kimberly Young"s Internet Addiction Questionnaire. Body mass index (BMI) was used to diagnose overweight and obesity. Data were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation test and regression analysis in SPSS software. Results: The research results showed that internet addiction has a significant relationship with all three subscales of cognitive capacities, psychological capacities and physical capacities from the physical literacy questionnaire (p<0.05). Also, there was no significant relationship between overweight and obese students in terms of internet addiction. Conclusion: According to the findings of the present research, Internet addiction is related to obesity and overweight and physical literacy of students, so it is recommended to control the use of the Internet in these students more carefully.
