Rural women are largely deprived of sexual health services. Regarding this, the present study aimed to investigate the prevalence of sexual dysfunction among the rural women and the underlying factors associated with this problem. Materials and Methods: This descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted on 405 rural women referring to the healthcare centers of Neyshabur, Razavi Khorasan, Iran, during Jan 2017 to April 2017. The study population was selected through multistage random sampling. The data were collected using a demographic form and the Persian version of the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI). The FSFI covers six domains, including libido, sexual arousal, vaginal moisture, orgasm, sexual satisfaction, and pain. In this index a total score of less than 28 indicates an undesirable sexual function. Results: According to the results, the mean sexual function of the rural women was 24.0 ± 5.0 (95% CI: 23.5-24.5). Considering the standard cut-off point, the prevalence rate of sexual dysfunction was 83.5 among the participants. Furthermore, the most and least frequent dysfunctions were sexual arousal and vaginal moisture, respectively. The results showed that the sexual dysfunction had a significant relationship with the males’ education level (P M3 ER -
